Larry Kelley's 1936 Heisman Trophy

In 1936, Kelley was the recipient of the second Downtown Athletic Club Trophy, which was renamed the Heisman Memorial Trophy in honor of John W. Heisman, an inventive college football coach genius who served in his later years as Director of Athletics at the Downtown Athletic Club. Kelley was both a sensational pass receiver and defenseman for Yale.
